Unconditional Hardship Always Rewards Sustainable Growth and Success in Life is something that Nandu Chavan has demonstrated for himself. A small frame of body with a huge heart who believes ‘life never stop’s, it is us who stop to live’.

He started his career as a screen printer in 1985 and excelled in the field. He also got trained in martial arts and won many competitions at state level. In 1987 he met a bunch of climbers and outdoor enthusiast who took him to the outdoors. After graduating from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) he successfully climbed more than 100 odd difficult routes like Kokan Kada center route, Ajoba Wall, Peth Pinnacle, Sarasgad Wall and 18 different expeditions in the Himalayas. Nandu has volunteered as a key person for rescue programs with the Mumbai police and The Indian Coast Guards and so many other organizations.

By 1998 his hobby had changed into an obsession and a set business was closed down for the zeal of the outdoors. By now climbing was at its peak and climbers were attempting challenging routes without adequate equipment’s. Due to the scarcity of equipment’s lot of incidences had taken place and this is where an idea of starting an adventure store was born. Nandu started an adventure equipment store for promoting safety in the outdoors. In 2010. Since then Nandu has never looked back and organized various workshops for climbers and outdoor professionals on various technical aspects. Currently he is the President of two different Organizations, one being “Maharashtra Outdoor Professional Association (aka MOPA)” which is a non-profit organization for promoting safety and development of outdoor professionals and the other one is “Children Growth Society” which is again a non-profit organization for providing educational support to 23 kids.

Today Nandu Chavan leads Mountain Sports Academy which has its Head Office based at Mumbai and franchises in Delhi-Goa-Nagpur-Nashik-Dehradun-Hrishikesh and Karnataka, As a leading Outdoor Service and Equipment Provider co. in Maharashtra, he has personally worked on more than 2000 Outdoor programs for various clients and Children’s since 1987 in India, Kuwait, Dubai and Singapore. MSA gives outdoor support to Ad shoots and films. MSA has provided support to almost 127 ad films and 16 different movies.

That’s not all, Nandu has been closely associated with Organizational Development Programs and designing of various leadership training sessions.

Nandu has received the Sahyadri Mitra Sanman award for year 2013 at Sahyadri Mitra Sammelan as a Mentor in Adventure Field. In the adventure field Nandu is also by the nick name “Nandu Dada”. With continuous hard work and determination to excel and serve the adventure / outdoor community, Nandu has a vision to open MSA chain of stores across the country to make the outdoor adventures a safe learning platform for various age groups.
